VERY Proficient REECIPE FOR PEOPLE WHOHAVE NEVER MADE CORNED BEEF HASH! Only i would seriously recommend adding more potatoes to information technology as the meat was waaaay to much forthe potatoes.. other thn that, this was good
01/12/2005
Hash was originally a way to employ up leftovers and although this recipe is prissy (a flake plain) probably all-time to go along information technology that way. In a lot of places hash is vinegary - just similar barbeque..probably originally the vinegar was, similar bbq sauce and hot sauce a way to preserve meat or sometimes make less fresh meat palatable. It'due south an acquired taste so rather than worry about cooking it off, just moderate the corporeality to your ain taste. Obviously how long you have to cook the tater depends on how small the slice or dice. Although I'd use left over corned beef or chopped up roast beef. Near any relatively finely chopped lean meat will work well (fatty meats will go far a mess). A cheap round steak finely chopped would work actually well as would a prok chop with the fat trimmed. Heck, turkwy makes a fine hash too. I like this recipe becasue yous can modify it to what you take on hand and to suit your own tastes.

My married man and I really enjoy this. I usually make it with leftover corned beef rather than canned. We similar the corporeality of vinegar and pepper, but I can certainly run into why some might prefer less of each. Absolutely heavenly served with a fried egg on top!
03/20/2006
This turned out bully. I used leftover corned beef from dinner. I also used pre-cubed potatoes in the salad dept. that were spiced with chipotle bbq. (kind of similar Simply Potatoes). I added 1 tsp garlic powder and salt/pepper to gustatory modality. I fabricated sure that the potatoes, beef and onion were well browned before I added the vinegar, and if you keep the heat at medium high, so the vinegar will blot pretty rapidly. This was excellent!
01/05/2010
Ooooh, this was good! I had some leftover corned beefiness and so I used that rather than canned (450 cal per serving with canned! OMG!!!). Real corned beef must accept fewer calories and fat than canned. (But if you feel the need to right my nutritional beliefs, please be kind because I desire to make this again..). I also heeded some of the reviews and used one-half of the pepper and vinegar. I was expecting the vinegar to be overpowering, but after 20 minutes it was just right. Don't buy the stuff out of the can...this is soooo much better!
04/22/2004
WOW way too much pepper. I didn't demand to cook everything that long - I cooked the potatoes for around v minutes, then added the corned beef, and afterward some other 10 minutes everything was done. Delight brand sure your vinegar is cooked out or information technology volition taste sour. You should exist able to olfactory property it while cooking and if you can still smell information technology, it's not totally out! This recipe definitely needed the corn I added. Proficient though - tried canned Hormel and that was ok, but the recipe was adept.
05/05/2002
A quick and easy dish that I whipped upwardly using ingredients I already had in the closet. I added a can of whole kernel corn to add some diet and colour to the dish.
03/26/2001
This was a peachy fashion to use leftover corned beefiness from St. Patrick's Day.
06/27/2003
I used left over Corned beef instead of canned, and my husband loved this quick and tasty repast.
04/02/2002
Easy, tastes good and a great way to apply up left over corned beef. I used deli beef!
08/22/2011
Great recipe, we go camping a lot in the summertime and I tried this for BF one morning with eggs and toast. Fabricated it almost exactly (except in that location are simply two of u.s.a. so I halved it) as the recipe called except I didn't mensurate the pepper or the vinegar. It was very expert and makes enough for two breakfasts! Great with soft eggs and toast!! Thank y'all very much - it's a keeper and will remain with my "regular camping recipes" forever!!

My Grandma fabricated Corned Beef Hash merely like this, My Mom made it, I fabricated it & now my two daughters are making it for their family, if you carmelize the onions first, it gives information technology a chip more than flavour, delish !! This recipe must be 100+ years old because My Grandma made it when she had a wood burning cook stove. Yummmm.. adding shedded carrots, celery, peppers totally changes the flavor merely you tin be creative, we only similar information technology manifestly & simple, served with ketchup!!
03/21/2011
OK I know this is a bit over the tiptop but... I had 1 thick slice of corned beef remaining. I used this recipe for the proportions (added shredded carrots for colour/flavor) and fabricated two little balls with a scoop, and put them on Asian ceramic soup spoons with a rosette of Dijon mustard and put it on each diner's plate as an "amuse-bouche" I had Kirs equally the cocktail, and the salt and sweet philharmonic was amazing!
03/xix/2011
This was a proficient recipe. I was looking for a quick, piece of cake corned beefiness hash recipe -- this was it! I actually made information technology a little EASIER. I had some leftover boiled ruddy potatoes from my St. Patrick'southward Twenty-four hours corned beef. I figured why not dice them upward (along with a few more that I apace boiled in the pot after that meal was over) and see if I can do this a piffling more than rapidly and non have to actually cook anything merely the onions! My children were very suspicious about this "hash stuff" -- only once they took a bite, they were hooked! I did cut back on the vinegar (per other user's suggestions) and used my leftover corned beef (not canned). I also found that one big onion was sufficient. Overall, a very tasty meal to make with my leftovers! HURRAY!
03/19/2010
I wasn't sure almost the cider vinegar...in hash?...but I did it and WOW what an incredible flavor information technology lends! My married man doesn't like onions then I subbed chopped yellowish sweet pepper and added a lilliputian chopped fresh jalapeno and GIDDY UP information technology rocked!
03/18/2010
I only put about 1-2 tablespoons of cider vinegar and that was plenty!!!
05/22/2011
I am not kidding! When I read this recipe I was eating canned corned beefiness and I keep tasting something that I couldn't put my finger on. It was vinegar....This recipe is good, just add some worcestshire sause and proficient to get...
08/26/2009
This recipe was pretty good. I used blue, yellow and red potatoes, yellow peppers and chopped upwardly celery leaves directly from the garden, and our ain natural made cubed corned beef. The vinegar was the only thing that was a bit different. I love corned beef hash, merely the vinegar gave it a different flavor. I liked it, but it's non as skillful as without.
08/11/2012
Good recipe, only a note about the corned beef: DO NOT USE HEREFORD Make. They take changed their production and it is horrible now.
03/xix/2007
I actually made information technology with tater tots. It was very yummy. The kids liked it alot. I did non add a lot of vinegar, either. Information technology didnt need it.
08/11/2012
What a keen recipe, I just made a slight modify I added a bit of jalepeno to give it a kick. The original recipe is corking we merely like things a with a trivial bite to information technology. I added the jalepenos at the begining, sauted them with the onions and potatoes. Yep, nosotros volition eat this once again.
08/11/2012
I've been making hash this fashion for years, however, i saute chopped raw cabbage and add it to the mixture. The family loves it.
03/xviii/2012
We found it overpowering on the cider vinegar but otherwise information technology was good. I have done better hash recipes so volition continue to use those.
05/09/2010
Excellent hash! My husband makes this for us all of the time. When we don't take leftover corned beef, we apply turkey bacon.nn
03/08/2011
A very nice blend of flavors. I used personally smoked corned beefiness which really set information technology off.
10/25/2004
Wow I made this for my boyfriend and he loved it! I only used a nuance of pepper and and hot sauce and it was smashing. Volition definitely make once more.
11/30/2005
This recipe is good but it could exist excellent if there were more seasonings added to it. The way the recipe stands, you desire to add a bunch of ketchup. Information technology would be nice if ketchup wasn't necessary to brand it have flavor.
03/24/2012
I disagree with anyone who said likewise much pepper and vinegar - its delicious as is. The pepper and vinegar add together sweetness and spiciness to the already salty corned beefiness. I also used left over corned beefiness instead of canned. Yum, will make every St. Patty'southward 24-hour interval with leftovers.
07/06/2013
Don't be afraid of the vinegar. The raw vinegar taste cooks out and leaves behind this wonderful hint of a tangy apple season, very uniform with corned beef! And employ real corned beefiness! It's awesome. Only matter I disagree with is you have to judge how much white potato to employ with the amount of corned beef yous're working with. This was a trivial heavy on the spud. But, the bones recipe is spot on! Thanks!
08/eleven/2012
I use left over roast beef. I have never tried vinegar in it. I use garlic salt instead of plain salt. I used beefiness stock and utilize corn starch to thicken it to have a gravy, very good with a crisp loaf of french breadstuff, or any crisp bread of choice.
10/04/2011
I idea this was okay. I made it exactly as written. The potatoes I used were russets (?) from someone's garden, and I didn't know if they were the right kind of potatoes to use, merely they came out fine. The cider vinegar was an interesting ingredient, but overall, I don't think I liked it all that much. This was the first time I'd ever made corned beef hash from scratch, and I've eaten better, but I'll give this a iv-star rating considering information technology's fairly easy and it makes a large amount (lasting me for iii large meals).
03/25/2010
Pretty expert! I loved the vinegar :) I did add a niggling salt.
12/05/2004
I made this yesterday for breakfast..yuck..I did not care for information technology at all. My husband and son ate it, merely I think it was only because they knew it was a task to make. Way as well much vinegar, just didn't sense of taste like my grandma's. Will non be making this again!!
08/03/2009
I despise hash of whatsoever kind and only make information technology for my husband and kids, with that in mind I have to say this was FANTASTIC! It must have been the cider vinegar which gave information technology a whole new dimension. Very well washed!
07/18/2014
Very tasty. I used leftover corned beefiness instead of the canned kind. Really piece of cake. I didn't measure the pepper or the vinegar, came out perfect. Served with fried eggs and toast. Yummy!
09/02/2012
I did non think this was proficient at all! I was very surprised at how neat the ratings were and how bad this turned out. Follow the recipe exactly. This is the beginning recipe I accept made where the ratings were very high and I was disappointed!
08/11/2012
I've fabricated Corned Beef Hash this way for 40 years. My question, why the vinegar and the big corporeality of black pepper? This should exist tasty, this should exist just as skilful equally mine. I'll accept to try the vinegar and less pepper.
08/25/2012
Yummy!! I usually do a casserole blazon of meal with cabbage for my corned beef indulgence but thought I'd give this a attempt every bit it is piece of cake & quick. I read the reviews - adjusted the recipe - just did iii potatoes and iv tbsp vinegar & added peas. Love the vinegar in it! Served on brown rice and my hubby went back for seconds!
10/ten/2004
Easy to brand-Tastes good
08/11/2012
Our family has fabricated this for years using left overs. Try replacing vinegar with worcestershire sauce.
09/01/2012
This recipe is similar to the one I've e'er made. I, too, use canned corned beef because hash is usually a last minute deal in my house. I only use ane TBS vinegar and only 1 tin can of the corned beef plus I scramble 2 eggs and put over the peak when I'm sure the potatoes are done. This is quick and easy and my family always eats it... that's a good thing in my house.
03/21/2010
My husband said information technology was wonderful! I'm not a big breakfast person, and then I didn't have whatever. I used slices of leftover corned beef out of the crock pot. He ate it with an over easy egg on top.
08/28/2012
Just tried this last night and it was lovely. Only remember eating it when I was a child and being healthy was for better or for worse, not in whatsoever consideration :) Merely a lot of ground pepper, and the corned beefiness took intendance of the saltiness. I parboiled the potatoes, though in hindsight, that left a bit too much moisture than I had wanted; it took the potatoes a really long time to brownish. I let it crisp in the cast atomic number 26 pan, flipping occasionally. As the insurrection de grace, I fabricated two wells and cracked an egg each in them. Excellent! Had some overbrowned bit though from maintaining the wells, waiting for the eggs to cook.
09/28/2007
Yummy! I used leftover pot roast for the meat and an extra tablespoon of oil (olive oil). Less pepper, too, and I added a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and salt. I left out the vinegar because my boyfriend dislikes it, and instead had vinegar at the tabular array to sprinkle on pinnacle. As information technology should happen, though, BF tried mine and liked the vinegar so put information technology on his, too! Next time I will cook it with the vinegar. This is a pretty fast, easy and cheap repast! Thanks!
04/16/2014
Delicious then like shooting fish in a barrel.
03/xviii/2009
I used my leftovers from St. Patty'southward Day.. Corned Beef, blood-red potatoes and onion.. Sprinkled on some garlic powder, salt, pepper and cayenne. I wasn't sure nigh the cider vinegar so I left it out!.. So good with eggs for breakfast!..
07/03/2015
What a bang-up meal. I fabricated it with 1 can corned beef and ii huge baking potatoes. I used onion flakes because I had no onion. Also used garlic seasoning. This will b added to our favourite meals.
01/21/2009
I really enjoyed this receipe. Instead of cubing the potatoes I used my food processor to shred them for less prep time and quick cooking fourth dimension. Did the aforementioned with the onion. I added vinegar just to my personal taste. One time everything was all cooked up, tossed on some shredded marble cheese and nosotros had a hit! Everyone was request for seconds. (a warning about shredding your potatoes for anyone who'due south interested, the hash doesn't look so pretty when you're finished only information technology tastes keen :))
04/08/2018
I love this recipe. I dot not pre-cook potatoes in microwave. Just smaller chunks. Boring cook on stovetop. And then when cooked through, sprinkled with vinegar, & placed under broiler to form a browned, crispy crust. Excellent.
02/09/2014
Easy and no fuss. employ slow cooker.
01/04/2010
Best Corned Beefiness Hash I've had in a long time!
10/10/2009
Expert recipe, followed the recipe exactly, kids approved.
02/13/2019
I followed instructions it came out great
05/09/2010
First-class hash! My husband makes this for us all of the fourth dimension. When we don't take leftover corned beef, nosotros utilize turkey bacon.nn
08/11/2012
I did not care for this recipe.
ten/18/2020
Great for a quick and like shooting fish in a barrel meal, I also skin/ chunk slice/ and microwave a carrot to add flavor & color, along with frozen or canned kernel corn. Leftovers are also really skilful fried up a little crispy.
03/13/2010
This is really practiced. I added a nuance of worcestershire sauce as I do in many recipes.
03/23/2017
I used left over corned beefiness for the recipe. It turned out great, will apply it again.
xi/11/2012
It was great. Still I had to add more spice, just recipes are actually a guide, and then I played around. I added Sazon Goya to the tater/corned beefiness mixture besides as Salary Salt(made by J&D). That gave it that zero that I'm used to. Six months in TX and you never get back to bland.
12/23/2008
Piece of cake and delicious
02/12/2019
Nosotros loved it. Mine was three medium potatoes, one onion, i can corn beef, tsp pepper (ish), skilful milkshake of seasoning common salt and two.5T apple tree cider vinegar. Near end (v minutes) threw in 3 scrambled eggs, some chick peas (cuz leftover in fridge) and tablespoon parsley. Served with broiled beans. Dinner! Thanks for the great idea and versatile recipe.
03/fifteen/2015
Only made this for me and my wife. My first crack at corned beefiness hash. I was confused at the v tablespoons of cider vinegar. I Sounded weird. So I institute I had everything BUT the vinegar so I left it out. I don't think information technology would have added annihilation to it, and anyway my married woman hates vinegar. My only other experience with hash is from a can and this is far better. I don't even demand to put ketchup on information technology.
08/16/2012
This Hash is first-class and easy to make. This is a keeper!!!!Makes an piece of cake and tasty breakfast or dinner!!! I served Eggs over Piece of cake with the Hash. Excellent!!!
08/13/2012
I dont like the vinegar! our family makes this as a potatoes and onions dish, then when just about done, add the corned beef. Delish! nosotros love the taste and the price!
ten/17/2014
This is a fine recipe. The vinegar is a prissy and necessary touch merely be conscientious it can be over powering. As for whatsoever Hash recipe information technology would exist best with actual corned beef not caned corned beefiness.
03/05/2017
Halved the recipe (merely had one tin), added greenish beans, garlic and corn, only one tbsp of the vinegar and 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce. It was keen, the kids loved it, even lil Mr. Pickypants who doesn't like beefiness and so that'southward a win in my book. Will definitely make over again and up the quantity. Thanks for posting.
12/nineteen/2008
I tried this recipe because of the idea of putting vinegar in it. I put ketchup on hash which besides has vinegar in it. Good hash, but I still had to use ketchup. Without ketchup I would take had to give 3***.
09/11/2020
Loved this but vinegars acid wrecks the seasoning in my cast iron pan. Any other blazon of pan is fine.
01/28/2019
I would use i tin of corned beef and ane tablespoon of cider vinegar. 5 tablespoons was besides much and overtook the corned beef flavor. I might also add together garlic and dark-green onion for flavor and colour.
